         Brief  Profile of Department

 

  • The department of Library science Established in the Year 1972. i.e., from the inception year of the college.

  • In a Seperate Building with 5616 Sqt Feet Plinth Area, with Seating Capacity for 120 Students in Different areas.

  • The central library at present is with nearly  26,700 books, the departmental libraries with latest reference books, pertaining to various subjects and the book bank facility are utilized by the students and the staff.

 

I.Mission & Vision 

  • The Library’s mission is to make its resources available and useful to the staff and students and to sustain and preserve a universal collection of Knowledge and creativity for future generations.

 

         “An inspiring beacon of Lifelong learning, bringing knowledge alive, sparking imagination and creating possibility for a vibrant and a creative Organization, i.e. Silver Jubilee.”

II.Objectives: 

  1. Library ensures quality development in education by learning.
  2. Its main aim is to develop Knowledge and interest in the field of study.
  3. To build up the confidence in staff and students in the treasure of knowledge.
  4. To make the staff and students information literates.
  5. Users satisfaction is the main aim of the Library.

IV.Library Advisory Committee:  This is an important committee which constitutes the members of staff one each from Science, Arts, Commerce and Languages. Principal is the Chairman of the Committee and the Librarian act as the  coordinator.

 Objectives of the Library Advisory Committee:

1 The developmental activities of the library are taken care of the Library Advisory Committee.

2 The members will meet once in a month to look after the development, requirement and facilities of the library and information Centre.

3 The resolutions are taken for the improvement of the Library and Information Centre keeping in view of the benefit of student’s career development and staff betterment in acquiring the knowledge.

The Members of the Library Advisory Committee for the year 2017-18 are:

1 Dr.Parvati Devi, Lecturer in Telugu

2. Dr.Venkateswara Rao, Lecturer in Economics.

3.  Dr.Michael David, Lecturer in Botany.

4. Sri.   Bala Krishnaiah Setty, Lecturer in Commerce.

 

 V.Ranganathan’s  Club

A Club formed and named “RANGANATHAN’S CLUB” by 3 Groups IIIrd MPCs,MScs,B.Com[Prof]. The Chairman of the club is the Principal Dr. S. Abdul Khader, Secretary is the Librarian Smt . S. Prapullatha Kurmari.The Students belonging to the 3 Group are the Members.

Activities of the Club members: The Above 3 groups students have to train the junior in Computer Skills in e-Library and they have to take part in social activities once in a month.
